The seat has several adjustment devices, one (6) adjustable by hand or by a control drive (6a) and others (7-14) by individual control drives (7a-14a). A memory (15a) stores definable adjuster control positions which can be called up by a control device. A sensor (17) detects the position of the first adjustment device. A characteristic for each of the other adjustment devices placed in the memory determines their desired positions depending on the setting position of the first adjustment device. A control device (15) determines the actual setting position of the first adjustment device via the sensor, calls up the setting positions for the other adjustment devices from the memory and controls them into the corresp. positions either automatically or on demand.
