The valve has a connection piece (8,108) with a housing (2) that allows it to be coupled to a rapid coupling system (4). The housing is arranged in a container (10) in a vertical position. The valve has a buoyant body (14) that when lifted by a volume of liquid to a specified level (27) in the container (10) activates blocking mechanisms (16). The activation of the blocking mechanisms prevents further liquid flowing into the container. The housing may be removably connected to the container. An unblocking mechanism (18) is used to restore the other mechanisms to their previous positions, and permit flow of liquid through the valve.
