The spanner has quick release system for exchange of sockets. The quick release system allows more than one kind of socket to be attached. The insertion of the socket into a steel housing allows a torsional force to be applied to the workpiece. The quick release mechanism can be removed from the housing quickly and repaired or replaced. A hexagonal opening at the end of the shaft body(1) allows different tools to be attached and used to turn the workpiece. For large scale work e.g. in shipyards or on machinery the spanner can be electrically driven.
