The system uses a chip card reader with a guide channel (6) through which the chip card is moved for contactless communication with a data transmission/reception device (14). The device is positioned within the guide channel or at a given distance form it. The size of the guide channel and/or the relative spacing of the transmission/reception device is limited to ensure secure data transmission between the chip card and the data transmission/reception device in a given position of the chip card along the guide channel. Pref. the latter is of hand width and is open on the upper side .
