The locking element for the load securing device is formed as a flexible inflatable pressure body (6) which is connected to a compressed air supply through a connecting line (10) and a control element. The pressure body is vertically adjustable and has a cable suspension. The connecting line, at least in part, is formed as a spiral-form hose extending along a connecting element (9). The body is inserted between the loading units (1), and between the loading units and side (5) of the ship. Several pressure bodies are located in a row in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the ship.
