A process is disclosed for automatically billing and monitoring the distribution of beverages. The amount of beverage tapped during each tapping operation is allocated to a calibration unit (K1, K2, ...) and recorded in a piece unit account only when the amount of tapped beverage corresponds to the set amount (1, 2, ...) of said calibration unit (K1, K2, ...), taking into account a certain variation range (S1, S2, ...). The amount of tapped beverage is however separately recorded by volume and allocated to a volume account when it lies outside said variation range (S1, S2, ...).
