<p>A linerless labeling system which utilizes a transparent or opaque paper of plastic film substrate (12). The substrate is provided in web roll (40) form and is printed on one side with an image overcoated with an adhesive. The opposite surface has release characteristics. When applied, the web (10) is fed across an anvil plate (110). A die (165) engages the anvil plate, cuts the label (25) from the web which label is then transfered to the surface of an item such as a plastic container (100).</p> |
