The nose splint has an oval shaped support surface (1) to correspond to the size and shape of the nasal septum. On the support surface are a first set of micro ridges (2). These permit capillary drainage in the physiological direction to occur. On the support surface is a channel (3) which widens in the opening direction (a) and which accepts the middle nose muscle. A flange (4) is connected to the channel. The upper surface of the flange, on either side, has a second set of micro ridges (6) which extend in the longitudinal direction to enable drainage of secretion through the nasal cavity.
