In a method for purification of flue gases from a combustion installation the flue gases are first sucked from the installation and through a liquid, and are then pressed through a liquid, whereby the purified flue gases are fed out into the surroundings. During the transfer the flue gases are split up into as small units as possible in order to provide the best possible contact with the fluid. The method is carried out by means of a flue gas purifier (5) comprising a container (6), which contains a fluid, preferably water, and which is partitioned into chambers (18 - 24). One set of chambers (18 - 21) forms a suction compartment (A) and another set of chambers (22 - 24) forms a pressure compartment (B). Walls (12, 14, 16) forming partitions between the chambers force the flue gases to alternately pass through the fluid and above the fluid. A pump (26) sucks the flue gases through the suction compartment (A) and presses these through the pressure compartment (B). The walls (12, 14, 16) are at least partly provided with slits, through which the flue gases are made to pass thereby being subdivided into a plurality of flows, and the outlet (28) of the pump (26) ends in a spray nozzle immersed in the fluid. The first chamber (18) in the suction compartment (A) in the flow direction of the flue gases is provided with an inlet (25) for the flue gases from the installation, and the last chamber in the pressure compartment (B) is provided with an outlet (29) for purified flue gases. <IMAGE> |
