A manually operable pilot valve 23 for a control system described in the main application comprises hollow valve elements 88, 89 biased by springs 123 into engagement with valve seats 96 to block flow between inlet ports 74, 84 and outlet ports 98. Rotation of a handle (118) acts through a pinion 106 and rack 108 to move a hollow plunger 109 axially into engagement with a flanged extension valve 102 on one of the valve elements which is thus moved away from its valve seat. Seals 91 on the outer ends of the valve elements engage bores in end caps 93. The hollow valve element 88, 89 and plunger 109 permit free flow of leakage fluid between the ends of the valve elements. The plunger 109 carries adjustable screws 121 which contact the valve elements. |
