ATM connection network

The network includes a detector with a memory (MCA) which stores the path (ITR) of a cell and recovers the path (ITR') on transmission of an incident cell and determines information concerning verification of loss of a cell. The detection includes a comparison (CP) between the sequence number (NS') of the previous cell and the sequence number (NS) of the incident cell. Loss is assumed if the number is not incremented by one. At the input, sequencing and path information are inserted in the cell. The network switches can intervene in broadcast information to give the routing allocated for subsequent path storage.
