Circular knitting machine with jacquard pattern control mechanism

A circular knitting machine (20) has a jacquard pattern control mechanism in which sinkers (27) slidably mounted in sinker grooves (26) in a sinker cap or dial (25) are controlled by a rocker bar supporting member (40) slidably mounted in each groove (26) behind the sinker. The rocker bar supporting member has a butt (41a) thereon and a pivotally mounted rocker bar having magnetically attractable sections (44f,44g) at opposite ends thereof. A magnetic attraction device (50) selectively attracts the magnetically attractable sections (44f,44g) of the rocker bar to pivot the rocker bar for controlling engagement thereof with a cam system (48) and, hence, movement of the associated sinker from inactive to active positions.
