A battery unit for a hand machine tool is proposed, which is provided with a charge indicator (34). The battery unit (10) comprises a pot-shaped housing part (20) and a cover (21) which closes said housing part. The charge indicator (34) is disposed in a cavity (27) in a projection (23), which projects laterally from the housing part (10) and is delimited by a front wall (24) lying parallel to a side surface (20a) and by a substantially U-shaped frame (25) surrounding the front wall (24) on three sides. In an upward direction, the cavity (27) is covered by a cover strip (26) projecting from a cover (21). |
