<p>An organic material comprises one of the following residue materials: sawdust, wood chips, bark, wood waste, charcoal, peat, shells, olive residues, coir dust, coffee hulls, coconut fibre, sunflower husks, cottonseed husks, hazelnut shells, bagasse, hemp, straw, flax, plant stalks, paper waste, malt sprouts, rice husks or municipal waste. Coir dust is preferred. The material may be formed into packaging members or pellets, for use as a packaging material. The packaging material is formed either by mixing the residue with a binding agent or by providing the residue between layers which act as skins, or by adhesion to a substrate. The material may be biodegradable and/or used as a fertiliser and/or a growing medium.</p> |
