The pneumatic nail gun (8) drives bent wire split nails (6) into wooden structures (7). The nails are fed along a supply gutter (38) from a magazine unit (1) to the insertion end (39) of the tool. Inside the magazine unit (1) is a drum (2). The nails are pre-loaded in radial slots (9) around the circumference. A pressure cylinder (16) alongside the supply gutter operates a pressure plate (11). The pressure plate (11) forces the nails along the selected slot (9) and into the supply gutter. The drum is rotated to the next required slot by a ratchet and pawl mechanism (18).
