PURPOSE: To produce a double oriented silicon steel sheet excellent in magnetic properties. CONSTITUTION: A strip-like rolling stock for a silicon steel sheet containing 1.5-5wt.% Si is subjected to broadside rolling at 500-900 deg.C at 50-800% spreading rate, to cold rolling at 10-80% total draft, and then to annealing. In this manufacturing method, it is preferable that the broadside rolling at 50-800% spreading rate is carried out by using a planetary mill having curved surface dies with curved projection. By this method, the double oriented steel sheet can be produced by the continuous rolling method, and further, the steel sheet having magnetic properties superior to those of the steel sheet prepared by an intersection rolling can be obtained. |
