PURPOSE: To rapidly cook by heating or thaw a variety of food products as their qualities are kept good. CONSTITUTION: A food product 23 is placed in a heating chamber 11 and cooked by controlling the steam generated by heating a metallic heater 17 with the alternating field of a surrounding exciting coil in a steam-generating chamber and electronic microwaves. The steam volume in the heating chamber 11 and the output of the electronic microwaves and the time control of the heating with the steam and the microwave can be optimized correspondingly to individual food products whereby a variety of food products can be thawed or cooked well by heating.
