<p>PURPOSE: To make it possible to solidify dust which is recovered in a dust collector and contains an alkaline component at a lower ratio by respectively separately supplying dust contg. the alkaline component at the lower ratio, calcium, magnesium salt and water to a device for stabilizing the dust described above and kneading the mixture. CONSTITUTION: The waste gases of an electric furnace 1 are cooled by a gas cooler 2 and are subjected to dust collection by the dust collector 3. The collected dust 4 contains oxide mainly composed of iron, as the greater part thereof and contains others, such oxide of zinc, cadmium, etc. The dust is acidic with pH of <=7. The dust 4 is first supplied by a dust supplying machine 5 to a kneading machine 10 at the time of treating such dust 4. The dust is then kneaded together with the calcium, magnesium salt and water supplied from respective supplying machines 6, 7 for calcium sources and magnesium salt and a water feeder 8, by which Ca(OH)2 is converted into CaSO4 and Mg(OH)2 under reaction of the Ca(OH)2 in the dust 4 and the water-soluble magnesium salt. The dust is thus treated.</p> |
