PURPOSE: To obtain the subject film little in defects such as scorches or pores and especially excellent in mechanical strength, transparency and dimensional stability on employment at high temperatures, because diamine component units have side chains. CONSTITUTION: A polyamide film having a melting point of 280-315 deg.C, an intrinsic viscosity [η] of 0.5-3.0dl/g, and a density of 1.16-1.22g/cc is produced from a polyamide comprising dicarboxylic acid component units consisting of 35-100mol.% of terephthalic acid units and 0-65mol.% of other aromatic dicarboxylic acid component units and/or 0-55mol.% of 4-20C aliphatic dicarboxylic acid component units, and diamine component units consisting of 20-90mol.% of 4-18C linear alkylenediamine component units and 10-80mol.% of 4-18C alkylene diamine component units having side alkyl chains. |
