Indolopyrrocarbazole derivatives such as exemplified by the following compound, <IMAGE> have excellent antitumor activity as evidenced by in vitro proliferation inhibiting activity against mouse leukemia cell, human gastric cancer cell, human lung cancer cell and human colon cancer cell.
