[Also in Division C3] Solid polymer is recovered from solution by a process comprising flash vapourization under elevated temperature and superatmospheric pressure in recirculation evaporation tank 19, comminuting the unvaporized residue by chopper 29, subjecting the material to further flash vapourization in zone 28, removing solvent from the polymer particles in zone 33, and purging in at least two zones 35 and 40 using a gaseous purging medium, to produce a product having less than 0.2% of solvent.</p> |
