PURPOSE: To improve the durability of a high load engine by forming a part forming a jetting port of a silicon nitride ceramic body as a member different from that for a main body in a subsidiary chamber insert having a jetting port communicated from a whirl chamber to a main combustion chamber formed as a to penetrate its bottom part. CONSTITUTION: An insert 5 is formed by a machine or a forging device using SUS 403, cylindrical as a whole, provided with a step part 13 in its lower part and by engaging the step part 13 with the step part of a cylinder head 4, playing of the insert 5 in upper and lower directions is regulated. A projecting part 14 is formed in a proper place in the outer peripheral surface of the insert 5 and this projecting part 14 is engaged with the recess of the cylinder head 4. Then, a heat resistant ceramic body 10 made of silicon nitride ceramic having a jetting port 7 and excellent resistance to high temperature oxidation, resistance to high temperature corrosion and resistance to heat wearing is inserted by pressure into the center lower part of such an insert 5. Thus, the durability of the insert 5 is improved. |
