The process for adsorbing organometallic chelate cpds. comprises contacting the cpds. with an aluminium adsorbent formed by coagulation, extrusion or grinding and having a volume of pores with a dia. greater than 80 Angstrom of 0.15 cm<3>/g and a granular size of less than 4 mm.
