PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly heat thermoplastic sheets even in the case of complicated product shapes of various thicknesses while holding the sheet to a predetermined pressed stable state during heating and cooling. SOLUTION: A pair of mutually opposed platen assemblies 14, 16 containing expansible diaphragm bags 32, 34 consisting of flexible membrane elements 40, 42, a pair of mutually opposed heat sources 26, 28 brought to the contact state with the membrane elements and the state separated from them and a pressurized fluid supply source expanding the diaphragm bags 32, 34 and cooling heated thermoplastic sheet material processed pieces 66, 68 are provided to a press apparatus. |
