PURPOSE: To obtain a dielectric ceramic improved in no-load Q value, consisting of ZrTiO3 phase or consisting mainly of ZrTiO4 phase crystallographically. CONSTITUTION: A mixture of ZrO2 , TiO2 , SnO2 , and oxides of each at least one component (element) among (A) a group of Mg, Co, Zr, Ni and Mn and (B) another group of Nb and Ta, is calcinated at 800-1300 deg.C for 1-8hr and then ground, and the resultant powder is press molded under a pressure of 0.5-1.5 ton/cm<2> into a molded product. Next, the molded product is degreased at 400-700 deg.C for 2-100hr and then baked at 1300-1500 deg.C for 2-100hr to obtain the objective dielectric ceramic of the formula [(x), (y) and (z) are each molar fraction ((x+y+z)=1); 0.200<=(x)<=0.500; 0.300<=(y)<=0.600; 0.010<=(z)<=0.400; 0.100<=(v)<=0.999; 0<=(w)<=0.400] consisting of ZrTiO4 phase where each at least one component among the groups A and B and Sn lie in mutual solid solution substitution, or consisting mainly of ZrTiO4 phase crystallographically. |
