PURPOSE: To provide a recorder improving the image quality of an image area having an extent and the image quality of a linear part and a method for controlling printing. CONSTITUTION: A line feed is conducted for a blank line, and a head is disposed at the position indicated in (B) for an image to be printed as indicated in (A). First printing is conducted by a stripe-like pattern on recording areas (4) and (6) in this state. Thus, the printing quality of the linear line after the blank is improved. After the line feed, the head is disposed at the position indicated in (C). Second printing is conducted by a stripe-like pattern for interpolating the first printing for the areas (4) and (6). Simultaneously, first printing is conducted on recording areas (5) and (7), which are printed by a zigzag-like pattern, and the quality of the image having an extent is improved. |
