TRANSFERRING LINES IN A DIGITAL LOOP CARRIER TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

Proposed is a method and system for transferring end customer phone lines between different terminations at the central office. Transfer is accomplished through the creation of virtual remote terminals of a desired size and number at the remote terminal and an appropriate mapping of the channel units to these virtualremote terminals.
