CEPHALOSPORIN COMPOUND, ITS USE AND INTERMEDIATE COMPOUND

PURPOSE: To obtain a new cephalosporin compound which is a specific one containing a difluoroalkyl group, capable of manifesting excellent antimicrobial activities, effective for both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and useful as a preventing and therapeutic agent, etc., for microbism. CONSTITUTION: A new cephalosporin compound (salt) of formula I (A is CH=CH, CH=CH-CH2 ON=CH or CH2 ON=CH; R<1> is H, alanyl or an amino- protecting group; R<2> is H, a lower alkyl or a hydroxy-protecting group; R<3> is carboxyl or an esterified carboxyl; Z is =CH or =N). The compound has excellent antimicrobial activities against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and is useful as a preventing and therapeutic agent for microbism used by peroral administration. The compound is obtained by reacting a new 7-aminocephalosporin compound of formula II with a carboxylic acid containing a heterocyclic group of formula III or its reactive derivative.
