PURPOSE: To construct a low cost temporary bridge having a long effective span, which is built of H sections and I sections usually adopted for a general purpose service, by using general purpose H and I sections as a main girder and introducing a tensile force into the main girder based on multiple strand PC steel strand wires. CONSTITUTION: When general purpose H and I sections are used as a main girder 1, a support member 3 which supports multiple strand PC steel strand wires 2 is mounted on the side surface of the main girder 1. Then, the main girder 1 is placed on a pedestal 5 where one side of the girder is fixed with the pedestal while the other side is arranged to be movable. Then, the multiple strand PC steel strand wires 2 are mounted on the member 3 and fastened with a nut, thereby providing a tensile force. This construction makes it possible to construct a low cost temporary bridge having long effective spans easily by using general purpose H and I sections. |
