In the case of a packaging apparatus for packing individual items transportable in stacks there is a feed table 1 for bringing the goods with items in an upright position in the form of a continuous stack P and on the table 1 a grouping arrangement, which comprises an ejector 2 for transferring a part stack separated from the rest of the stack into a further processing station 3. The grouping arrangement is mounted in a frame, which can be moved in a vertical direction from the feed table 1 to a position situated above the said table, and which can be locked in the said upper position. <IMAGE>
