PURPOSE: To obtain a lustering agent uniformly spreadable on a substrate, easily removable by wiping and effective for applying good luster to the surface of coated or plated metal, plastics, wood, etc. CONSTITUTION: This lustering agent is produced by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a wax and/or a waxy substance with (B) 0.1-100 pts.wt. of cured silicone powder having an average particle diameter of preferably 0.1-200μm (especially 0.5-80μm), having a 5-30C Si-bonded alkyl group and preferably covered with inorganic powder. The Si-bonded organic group of the component B is e.g. 4-oxiranylbutyl group, 3-glycidoxypropyl group, 3-methacryloxypropyl group or N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyl group. The inorganic powder to be used as a covering material is preferably amorphous silica powder or titanium oxide powder.
