PURPOSE: To keep a low-friction coefficient and a mechanical properties characteristic to a rubber, a main component, at a stable state for a long time 111 a lubricating rubber composition which requires sealability and slidableness and to stabilize a friction coefficient (μ) at a low level from the initial period of sliding state. CONSTITUTION: A lubricating rubber composition is prepared by compounding 100 pts.wt. of a synthetic rubber such as an acrylonitrilebutadiene rubber, a fluoride rubber or a chlorosulfonated polyethylene with 5-50 pts.wt. of an activated carbon having a specific surface area of 500-2000m<2> /g, 5-40 pts.wt. of a lubricating oil having a solubility coefficientδs satisfying the equation|δe-δs|>1.0 (δe is a solubility coefficient of the rubber) and 5-80 pts.wt. of spherical graphites.
