PURPOSE: To precisely and efficiently perform welding and the like for a work by easily obtaining an elliptic laser beam with a simple and inexpensive structure. CONSTITUTION: An outgoing optical part 10 carries out welding by emitting to a work W a YAG laser beam L transmitted through an optical fiber. A rotary cylinder 17 rotating in an outer cylinder 14 is provided with a retention hole 17b holding the ferrule 19 in an inclined manner at the end 8b of the optical fiber at a prescribed angle α. The outgoing end face 19a of the ferrule 19 is cut off at a cutting angle θ, and the refracted light is elliptically converged on the work W at the focal position 0 through the outgoing lens 12 so that welding is performed. With the rotary cylinder 17 rotated, the elliptical direction changes around the optical axis. With the lens holder 18 of the outgoing lens 12 moved back and forth in the direction of the optical axis, the focal position O is moved similarly, allowing the welding position to be adjusted. |
