PURPOSE: To solve the problems of deviation of image position on a print sheet, a reduction in the durability of a master, occurrence of impact noise and the like, by producing a paper cylinder by a method wherein a fiber-reinforced synthetic resin sheet is laid around a core and thermally deformed into a tubular shape, thus forming a cylinder member, and then a rubber layer is formed around the cylinder member. CONSTITUTION: A paper cylinder 20-1 is formed by closing the opposite open ends of a D-shaped support tube 50 provided as a cylinder member, with ring- like members 51, 51' each having a central hole through which a shaft 23 is to be passed through, and by covering the outer peripheral surface of the support tube 50 with a rubber sheet 52. This support tube 50 is made up of a tubular member formed of a carbon fiber-reinforced resin sheet or a glass fiber- reinforced resin sheet. A D-shaped portion of the support tube 50 is provided with holding claws 21 for holding a sheet parallel to the axis of the support tube 50. The holding claws 21 are freely rotatably supported by a bracket 53 fixed to the D-shaped portion of the support tube 50, and the claws 21 are opened and closed according to a set timing. |
