PURPOSE: To provide a biaxially oriented polyester film for capacitor dielectric having excellent adhesion to an electrode metal layer, which provides high degree of electric property and moisture/heat resistance. CONSTITUTION: A biaxially oriented polyester film has, on at least one face, a coating layer having a thickness of 0.005-1.0μm consisting of a composition having 50wt.% or above of polyester resin. A refractive index (nα) of the film in the direction of thickness is less than 1.490, a planar orientation (ΔP) exceeds 0.170, and a Young's modulus of the film in the longitudinal direction is 5.0GPa or higher. |
