PURPOSE: To obtain A-76202M as a new compound having inhibiting activity againstα-glycosidase which exists in endoplasmic reticulum and useful as an anti-AIDS agent and antitumor agent by culturing A-76202M producing bacterium belonging to the genus Rhodococcus and then collecting the product. CONSTITUTION: This new compound is expressed by the formula and is white powder and soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide and water and slightly soluble in acetone and has the molecular formula C25 H26 O13 (measured by high resolution mass spectrum) and a molecular weight of 534 (measured by FAB-MS spectrum) and exhibits inhibiting activity againstα-glycosidase which exists in endoplasmic reticulum, and is useful as an anti-AIDS agent, antitumor agent, etc. The new compound A-76202M is obtained by culturing A-76202M-producing bacterium belonging to the genus Rhodococcus [e.g. Rhodococcus sp. SANK61694 strain (FERM BP-4751), etc.] in a culture medium and collecting the product from the culture products. |
