PURPOSE: To aim at reduction in fluid loss on account of high surface pressure/ size reduction of a pad, simplification of a structure and maintenance in the case of a thrust bearing used for a high load applicable to both normal/reverse rotation directional machine. CONSTITUTION: The heat insulating resin material 8a (e.g. polytetrafluoroethylene material) is inserted in the sliding surface of a pad 8 for slidably supporting a rotary plate, a slit groove is formed on both side end parts of the pad metal stand 8c of the pad 8, furthermore a piezoelectric-element is inserted in the slit groove. Or, several through-holes are worked in the upper surface part of the pad metal stand 8c and a heater is mounted there. The deformation of the sliding surface of the pad 8 can be optimized according to loading conditions in this constitution so that excellent bearing characteristics can be secured. Also, an oil lifter can be omitted by applying glass fiber packed PTFE(polytetrafluoroethylene) excellent in elastic deformation, anti-wear property low frictional torque, etc., to a heat insulating resin material. |
