PURPOSE: To easily and surely apply masking to the part requiring no boronizing treatment, by applying a ceramic-type muddy substance to the part, requiring no boronizing treatment, of titanium-aluminum alloy parts, carrying out drying, and then performing boronizing treatment in a molten salt treatment tank. CONSTITUTION: A muddy substance, prepared by adding inorganic binder to ceramics (SiO2 ), is applied to the part, requiring no boronizing treatment, of titanium-aluminum alloy parts 1 (e.g. moving blade of jet engine) to about 20μm and dried to perform masking. Further, the aluminum content of the alloy parts 1 is regulated to 33%. Subsequently, the masked alloy parts 1 are set via a suspended conducting material 5 in a molten salt treatment tank 2, and the temp. of a salt bath 3 is held at about 750-800 deg.C and treatment is carried out for about 4hr at about 0.05A/cm<2> current density by means of a DC electric power source 4, by which boronizing treatment is applied to the unmasked part to about 10-20μm thickness. By this method, masking can be done with certainty at a low cost, and the borided parts having high reliability can be obtained.
