A mounting for a facing slab 9 which permits its adjustment in position along three axes mutually at right angles comprises a plurality of rotatably mounted screw threaded stems 3 projecting rearwardly from the slab each located with radial clearance within a bore 1 in a wall element 2, the stem 3 being secured, for example by nuts 4, 6, so that it can be adjusted in a radial and in an axial direction relative to the bore 1, from the internal surface of said wall element 2. The nut 4 may comprise apertures 30 engageable by a tool inserted through the bore 1. The wall element 2 may be a conventional wall or may form a prefabricated element with the slab 9. The stem 3 has a head at its outer end engageable with a slot in a mounting bracket 8 fixed to the slab 9, the slot compensating for expansion or contraction of the slab. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown) the slab 9 is attached to the headed end of the stem 3 via a keyhole-slot connection which allows subsequent assembly or dissassembly of the slab 9. In another embodiment Fig. 5, not shown, the stem 9 is axially adjustable within and is accessible through an internally and externally screwthreaded sleeve which is secured with radial clearance within the bore 1 for radial adjustment only therein. |
