The conveyor platform (1) has two legs (2) acting as the bearing for a spindle (3) carrying a drive pinion (4) and a roller (5) which runs on a guide support rail (6). The pinion meshes with a chain (7) which pulls the spindle at a differential speed, which in the limit is equal to the chain speed. When the platform meets an obstacle the chain continues running and remains meshed with the pinion which rotates at the chain speed, the platform staying at rest. The spindle has a reduced diameter part (31) with a threaded end (32). The shoulder (33) formed between this reduced part and the larger diameter part (30) is supported against the platform leg and the threaded part receives a nut (34) and a washer (35). The other end of the spindle has a ferrule (36), carrying the roller ball bearing (8). The pinion has a telescopic hub composed of a grooved sleeve (41) acting as the pinion drive. The sleeve has a staged bore formed from small (411) and large (412) diameter parts forming a shoulder (413). The large diameter takes a ring (42) formed by a sleeve (421) and an external collar (422) which form a housing for a spring (10).
