A smart card comprising a card body (1) with a printed circuit (2) having two electrodes (2a, 2b) spaced apart at the bottom (5) of a recess (4) provided in the card body and having two parallel side surfaces (6), a switch (8) movably arranged in the recess in a direction parallel to the side surfaces thereof between an operative position in which it electrically connects the two electrodes, and an inoperative position in which the two electrodes are mutually electrically disconnected, as well as complementary abutment means (12, 11) protected by the recess and the switch. Said complementary abutment means include two notches (12) in one of the two side surfaces (6) of the recess (4), and a projection (11) provided on the switch (8) for engaging the notches (12) when said switch is moved into the operative and inoperative positions.
