PURPOSE: To obtain a madder color compsn. improved in resistances to heat and light by compounding a madder color lake or a specific compsn. with protein. CONSTITUTION: This madder color compsn. is obtd. by compounding 1 pt.wt. madder color lake (or 1 pt.wt. sum of madder color and a compsn. for converting it into a lake) with 1-100 pts.wt. protein selected from among protein sol. in an aq. soln. having a pH of 6.5-8.0, a gum, an emulsifier, and an emulsifiable food material. A protein food or a neutral food is colored by mixing it with an aq. soln. contg. 1-80wt.% madder color compsn. in such an amt. of the soln. that the amt. of the compsn. is 0.01-10.0wt.% of the resulting mixture. |
