The invention relates to a method for the protection of a turfgrass at a locus which comprises applying to said locus an isoxazole derivative of formula (I); wherein R is hydrogen or -CO2R<3>, wherein R<3> is as defined below; R<1> is cyclopropyl; R<2> is selected from halogen, -S(O)pR<4> and C1-4 alkyl or haloalkyl; n is two or three; p is zero, one or two; R<3> is C1-4 alkyl and R<4> is C1-4 alkyl; and to compositions containing the same.
