The front wall (2) of the bed box (1) has on its upper surface cover caps (6) with semi-circular rounded areas (6a). The thickness of the caps increases the bearing support plate for the seat cushion (27) in the bed position. The connecting line of the centre points of the rounded areas is level (9) with the bed box (1). Locking rollers (24) are provided on the inside of the side rails (15) of the extension frame and their centre axis is above the plane of the caps and the lower circumference is underneath the plane. The radius of the locking rollers and that of the adjoining rounded area contact one another. In the double bed position the imaginary line through the centre axis of the locking rollers and centre point of the rounded area facing the rollers is inclined 22 degs. towards the horizontal plane running through the centre axis of the rollers.
