The system has a separate switching unit (6) with time setting (12), for time-dependent switching-on or off of the main program. The unit is connected on the input side to a combination circuit (8). The second input of the circuit is connected to the timer (3), while the output is connected to the regulator (10) for the burner output. The combination circuit has priority over the switching unit. The time setting of the unit has a logarithmic division. The switching unit is located near the entrance door to a dwelling unit, and has an indicator.
