Impact damper with reversible rebound damper for piston rods

The impact damper comprises a deformation element (18) which is arranged as an irreversible damping mechanism in carrier tube (15), and filling the cross-section of it. The deformation element may be deformed by the housing (1) and the piston rod (5). The carrier tube is closed by a base (19) against which the deformation element lies. The piston rod lies against the deformation element by piston (17) and is fixed to the base. The deformation element may consist of an aluminium foam which has a density of 0.3-1.2 g/cm<3>. The deformation element may also consist of a hardened silicon.
