The gear wheel mfg. process involves cold plastic processing, The mfr. includes preparation of a disc-shaped blank (30) and the conical pressing of a middle sector of this blank under uniform pressure from above and below. The pressure deforms the blank plastically in order to produce the gear wheel (40). The process also involves the use of a die head (6) fitting round the circumferential surface of the blank. The blank is limited in such a manner that during the making of the gear wheel, it can only flow in a radial direction at the ends of its circumferential surface.
