Conveyor in which the drive and guide wheels (6 7) of the drive station (7) are joined to each other by a friction belt (10). The side (11) of the friction belt directed towards the guide surfaces is matched to the shape of the guide surfaces. The drive and guide wheels are provided with a drive surface (8) which partially takes up the friction belt. The friction belt is made in the form of a toothed belt or a flat belt of non-flammable material.
