Shoe or boot with watertight lining

The footwear has a flexible upper (1) which is mounted over a flexible lining (2). The lining is made from a material which is watertight but which lets vapours through. The lining is attached along a seam (4) to an insole (3). The lower edge of the shoe uppers incorporates a flexible element (6) which can be tightened to reduce the circumference of the lower edge. The seam where the insole is attached to the lining lies at a distance (A) from the edge of the shoe uppers. After the edge of the upper part has been pulled in, a plastics sole (5) is moulded on to the shoe covering the edge which has been drawn in.
