Collector (1) and extender (10) can be automatically extended from the ship to the water surface, under remote control, in sequence which starts from lifting the collector out of its mounting, and its extension, and lowering into the sea where the collector adopts its operating position (c). The rear part of the collector is moved out by means of a pusher beam (2), the front part being extended via a lifting and guiding device (3) assisted by a rocker arm (4). The collector, floating in the water, is positioned by cables (6,7), using the device (3) along with the ships hull to support the collector in its operating position (c).
